The search for performance, the protection of the engine’s components and energetic efficiency are the hallmarks of the products formulated this season for the Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS team.

Elf has remained faithful to the Marc VDS Racing team and is delighted with this partnership whose 2015 aims combine sporting and technical challenges. The Belgian team, which won the title in last year’s Moto2 Championship, is building up momentum and this season it is making its debut in MotoGP category with Elf. The rider will be Englishman Scott Redding on a Honda RC213V Factory. (Elf keeps on collaborating with Honda)

Michael Bartholemy, Marc VDS Racing Team Manager

What are your aims in MotoGP?

M.B: “Even though we’re ambitious, we have to be humble as well. We have a three-season plan and we hope to prove that we’re the best private team in 2016. This year I’d like to see Scott Redding finishing eighth in Qatar, then continuing his apprenticeship in Texas and Argentina before reducing the gap to the five quickest riders when we’re back racing in Europe. Last year Scott rode an Open; he now has to adapt and find his feet before he starts really upping the pace. The bike’s pretty good, a Factory identical to the one ridden by Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa. We’ve got a great package.”

How do you see your partnership with Total Group?

MB: “In fact we’ve been partners for some ten years and Total has become my family! I can’t imagine myself continuing without Total and I’m very proud that we’ve extended our agreement for another two years. From both a human and sporting point of view we share the same values. It’s all about passion and performance and our team is very sensitive to the fact that we’re being backed 100 per cent in our approach. It’s an invaluable partnership and our aim is to be fighting at the front.”

What advantages do you gain from the products put at your disposal?

MB: “They’re benchmark products in the world of the motorbike. They give us a real advantage compared to our rivals in terms of power, reliability and mastery od consumption. The capacity of the engineers and researchers at Total to formulate and develop new solutions is really impressive. The lubricants on offer to us contribute to our results and provide gains which enhance our technical package.”
