Alpine and Peugeot score podium finishes at the 6 Hours of Monza

The 6 Hours of Monza, round five of the FIA World Endurance Championship, was a memorable event for Team Alpine Elf Endurance and Peugeot TotalEnergies Team. Both teams celebrated podium finishes, with Alpine finishing second in LMP2 and Peugeot taking third place in the Hypercar class

Alpine had a strong weekend, with Julien Canal, Charles Milesi, and Matthieu Vaxivière securing the fastest race lap in their class and fighting their way up from ninth place to finish second. This was Alpine's first podium finish since their return to LMP2, and it sets a positive tone for the next round of the championship.

The weekend also began with promising signs for Peugeot, as they showed impressive speed during the third free practice session. The momentum continued into qualifying, where they secured fourth place, only three-tenths of a second behind pole position. The race day's stifling heat put drivers and teams to the test, but it didn't deter Peugeot, who produced a flawless performance throughout the race. Mikkel Jensen, Jean-Eric Vergne, and Paul Di Resta demonstrated sheer skill and determination, ultimately clinching a remarkable third place finish.

The 6 Hours of Monza was a successful weekend for both teams, and it has given them a boost of confidence as they head into the final two races of the season. Alpine is now fifth in the teams' standings, while Peugeot is seventh in the drivers' standings.

With two races left in the season, both teams are eager to continue their upward trajectory and challenge for the championship. The next race will be the 6 Hours of Fuji, which will take place on September 8th. This will be a crucial race for both teams, as it will be the last chance to score points before the season finale at the 8 hours of Bahrain

Fans can expect to see more thrilling racing and memorable moments from both teams in the upcoming races. With so much still to play for, the championship is sure to go down to the wire.
